So im awaiting the arrival of my new Canon 1000 What would be the first pictures to take to test the camera out?

One with the lens cap on.

To see if there are any dead pixels or anything else funny with the sensor.

Ive been told it may need the sensor to be cleaned. Which i got the camera a bit cheap.

In that case following the picture with the lens cap on you might want to try one of a white piece of paper.

Then again just go and take whatever you want and if it doesn't show up in your normal pictures does it really matter?

I guess not. Any ideas on where i could get it cleaned? Do jessops etc.. offer this?
