Rules for the Classifieds forums.
These rules have been added to the site rules, thus there is no requirement to reply to this thread. The thread remains for quick referencing 1)All buying and selling must take place in the Classifieds forums, and no other forum sections.
2)You can only sell items that you own, and are legal to sell in the UK. You may not sell items for a friend, co-worker, family member etc, and you may not sell pirated software, livestock/animals, weapons or imitation weapons. This list may be edited at any time with no notice, and changes will apply to threads posted before the update as well as threads after..
3)The item must actually be for sale. No gauging interest threads.
4)Commercial sellers *must* contact us before offering their product for sale, and can only trade using an account that has been upgraded to "TopMembership" and must remain upgraded whilst their product is for sale.
5)Your opening post must contain:
If the product is for sale, a price
The condition of the item (new, used..)
Any known defects and/or damage
6) Thread title formatting must follow the following structure:
If an item is for sale: "For sale:"
If an item is for trade: "For trade:"
If looking for an item: "Wanted:"
7) No dibbing/reserving.
Once your product has been sold/traded, or you've found the product you were looking for, please add a final post simply stating "Sold", "Traded" or "Found". We will then lock the thread.
9) You may "bump" once every 48 hours. This overrides the 24 hour bump rule set out on the site rules page.
When you and another party have agreed a deal, it would be advised that you obtain:
Each others full name and address
Landline number
Confirm:
The price agreed
Payment method
Postage method
Postage cost, and who is to bear the cost
Timescale for payment
Timescale for delivery
Tips:
Keep postage receipts
Keep any bank transfer receipts
Failure to obtain and confirm the above, may result in us not being able to help should a deal go sour.
