Hey guys and gals... all comments on my portfolio will be graciously and gratefully received.

Bear in mind I’m an amateur photographer – without the advent of the digital camera I would not be here. I’d be bankrupted with film costs. Worse still I’d only have one or two images of any worth that occurred by accident rather than design. Oh, and the slightly washed out effect is mostly by design, I kinda like it that way.

I’m not trying to get to the amazing standard of some of the pro togs on here; I’m just trying to find and interesting, slightly unusual style. What do you think?

I think your portfolio is great. There's plenty of professionals whose control of lighting is not up to yours. Your style is not one I personally shoot, but you know what you want and you shoot it well. I wouldnt call it a washed out effect, my guess is you prefer a slightly desaturated image, which works well with your subjects. My favourite has to be the last one, I'd like to see a low key version of that as well.

Don't sell yourself short. They are all very good images that many professionals might not be able to produce.

Just because someone gets paid to produce images for clients doesn't always make them better than you.

Just my opinion of course

You can improve :

On the white background, the exposure for the model and background as well. Will make a big difference.

On the other hand , nice models , nice themes and for an amateur is not bad at all. Keep up the good work and read , read , read , shoot , shoot shoot.

Regards

Marius
