Just caught the last few minutes of the bbc 1 programme Click Online and they was talking about a camera/programme where you can get an out of focused picture back into razor sharp focus....Adobe is also very interested in this idea too and have their own research going on...could this be the end of photography as we know it?.....the companies name is Lytro if you want to look at the video its about 12 minutes into the programme.

Never catch on LOL , I assume that some part of the image has to be in focus to act as a refernce point ,so if you have an image which is totally oof Ie:Camera shake ,will it still work ? ,

I looked up their website, it looks interesting..

I found a demo on their website: www.lytro.com/pictures/lyt-8/

I'm not sure how accurate that demo will be to the final product, but I can't see it being the end of photography as we know it. It will be an additional tool, a bit like Live View, but I can see the technology mainly being implemented into "point and shoot" style cameras in the future, a bit like that awful skin smoothing and pseudo-HDR effects the new consumer cameras utilise.

Neat Demo, but I assume it must have a start point to reference from,I would like to see a shot all out of focus and see if it works , I do agree though it would be good add on tool .God knows I need it .

Could be good for those awesome shots that seem a bit out of focus, tho I imagine really good photographers wouldnt need it for many of their photos. Unsure tho as I'm not a photographer, I thought many cameras could automatically focus now tho.
