So, you post a casting for a model to do a topless shoot in the rain, because of the Scottish summer we're having.

Then a model applies for casting but says why not nude? We agree a fee and a place. She then gives you her number and asks to arrange a meeting at a coffee shop near her for a chat. Seems reasonable so far. So, I agree to 'phone her on the Monday to arrange a time for the meeting.

Doesn't answer 'phone.

Doesn't answer e-mails.

Then posts a casting of her own looking for photographers to do an outdoor shoot in the rain, Scottish summer, etc.

Wierd! *shakes head, moves on*

Seems a bit of an elaborate way of stealing an idea! :/

There's plenty of rain to go round so it's not the idea that bothers me, it's just wierd.

Anyway, there are other models and other rainy days.

could she possibly have mistakenly given you a wrong number ,then when she got no call decided to do it herself ? )

That does seem kind of odd right enough. Maybe try contacting her again and ask her why she didn't reply to you?

I suppose the only up side is that you weren't sat in a studio with a no-show and the time you've paid for ticking away - which has happened to me more times than I care to remember!

As Rhi Von Bee said, try contacting her again? maybe she just forgot to reply.

Hello. I'm a new name here but I've been in photography 40 years. The trouble with 'models', by which I mean girls who get the idea in their head they would like to do it as opposed to professionals, is that it's just that, an idea. 90% have no committment. Sadly, the modern world has provided us with a generation who care for no-one other than themselves. It's polite to answer mails, answer the phone, etc. Example: On another forum a girl posted an all-good-intentions post asking for advice. 10 photographers posted at length with good advice and she hasn't even been back to look for over a month. As for studio time, if I had £1............

I had an asthma attack that lasted 3 days and put on steroids...again..incase you dont now, breathing is painful and chatting and breathing is very difficult. That turned into chest infection which was fun (not). The severity of mine varies each year..that was first for near a year. Since, ive spo*en to photographer, now on fb!
Hi BillB, im an ex staff nurse, speciaised in renal, nursed in NZ, 11 years as a carer..i had to go because of a..hmm, going to say im here today. I do charity wor for cancer research, and have my own conservation org. I did a degree in Zoology after recovery.
I miss nursing but unfort immune system foo*ed! So im gutted i didnt do rain shoot...id be in hosp by now if i did...i wish this thread deleted, bit upsetting to read.

As for scottish summer bit, wasnt about 4 seasons in one day

Awwwwwwww! hahaha! and now the weather from clickgotcha! ive a shoot on tues, getting times today..if eary, could do late afternoon or wait til i return?!

I've never not shown up or cancelled last min, I figure i'd be annoyed if I turn up but the photographer didnt so why do it to them?
