New here having signed up just yesterday. Keen to work with as many models as possible in order to help to learn and improve. Any constructive views on my pictures are most welcome.

Hi Paul,

Somehow a duplicate thread was added, but I've sorted that for you.

Welcome to the site!

Good looking port, I noticed you've worked with another member on the site - Willow Star - its possible to tag her in your photos, so that they appear on her Tagged Photos gallery..

If you go to My Control Panel -> Photos -> Click a photo of her -> a box will pop up, in the "Model" box, type "@willow+star" (but without the quotation marks).

Looking forward to seeing more shots from you and seeing your work develop,

James

Hi Paul

Your photos of Willow Star are my favourites, as they make use of natural light so well.

I see in your profile you've said that you don't use lighting (I assume you mean studio lighting) which is great, and a lot of photographers work this way - just using the available light around them (either from a window, a nearby lamp, light shining down a hallway, etc).

I think your photos using available light appeal to me more than the ones using a flash (which is a form of lighting, just less fancy than big studio lights), as they seem more natural, and therefore more in line with what you're trying to achieve, if that makes sense?

I do love seeing photographers work this way as you can get some lovely, unpredictable shots simply by experimenting with what's already there. Maybe you could even try a bit more outdoor work just using the sun (or sunset?) while the weather's nice (I use the term "nice" very loosely here).

Hi Nixie

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Yes, I do enjoy the natural photos and totally agree about sometimes coming up with a real gem!

I certainly plan to try and get outside this summer. I have two models locally who are happy to shoot in the sun, so fingers crossed!

If I ever get to Scotland I will give you a shout!

Paul
xx
