Hi and welcome to the site im sure your going to enjoy the site and how much you will be able to network freely here. Have been on here myself a few months now and found it to be one of the best out there so far. The only advice I can give you right now is please be careful when searching for work, both on there and any other websites out there. There are so many togs looking for young, inexperienced girls like you, desperate to become models, ur very easy picking for them. They will claim to have yrs of experience and say that its a hobby of their and that they can help you build your port folio for FREE LOL, be very on your guard at all times. If a tog is offering you stupid amounts of money for a shoot, trust me he's going to expect you to model more than just fashion !!!! A lot of the time most togs doin it as a hobbie are looking for you to pose naked, maybe interact or do video work for them and usually it'll be for their own pleasure and the pics/video could well end up on any porn site out there or even the tog maybe selling it onto other and profitting from it without ur consent ............... If your seriously looking to make it in the industry professionally maybe the best route would be hitting the proper modelling agency's first, especially if your a young fresh face.

You will however find some genuine models on here, amature, semi pro & professionals that are more than happy to help guide you. These models have given me sound, honest advice. There are also the odd few togs out there that are'nt bad but sadly these are few and far between on most of the sites you'll find on the internet.

Never be afraid to say no to a tog or turn a job down, especially if its good money, trust me they are'nt expecting you to be good and pay you a big amount of money for niceness, they will want you to be as filthy as possible .......................

I wish you well and the best of luck in the industry.

Jaci

Sorry Jaci, Don't want to turn this thread into a rant but I feel i should point out some of us are serious professionals and not predators!

Although I'm sure Jaci's post was just meant to point out that its important to be safe within modeling, it could come across as a bit daunting/scary to a newcomer.

As Lux Flash says, its important to remember there are also many serious professionals out there. For many of these, photography may just be a hobby and it may not be their profession - but it doesn't mean that they're not worth working with and it also certainly doesn't mean they don't act in a professional manner. (Hope that makes sense..?)

But, as you don't have "Adult" or any of the more mature work styles selected, then you don't have to worry too much. Just always make sure that the photoshoot brief has been discussed in length beforehand.

I'd also recommend any new models read this article that someone has submitted:
www.madcowmodels.co.uk/articles/Safety-in-Modeling.html

Its a good article, and just using a few of those pointers will help keep everyone a little safer and more informed.

Anyway! Your initial profile is good, its well filled out. I might suggest uploading a few clearer photos though, even if you have to get a parent or friend to snap a few photos on a little camera.
Nothing fancy or too posed, its just so photographers have a clear idea of what you look like.

To Lux Flash & James, thank you for your input on this new comers thread. Im sure she'll hopefully appreciate all support, comments & advice from all angles. It is and was not im intention to scare or bad mouth the decent models & togs out there, merely pointing out very clearly that they exists and she's easy prey for them !!! FACT for fairytale, that's the harsh reality of THIS industry regardless of what you place on ur profiles on any of these website. I myself take very sound advice from some very ground models & togs both on here, purestorm, netmodels and AIR, even though im not a pro in this industry I do have my head screwed on properly and not driven by money or the madness of the modelling world. I love doing it and started myself purely for fun. I think it's very important to advise new comers very clearly and not fill their heads with dreams you know really can never become reality......

Wishing you all well !!

We do try our best to inform them, hence the new articles section we built with the initial articles we published being aimed towards models and their safety.

Also, in the other thread, you mentioned about "predators lurking". If you have things you'd like to report, then the contact us page is always there, or you can always contact me via my page on here ( www.madcowmodels.co.uk/james ).

Regards,

James

Hiya Aemilie - welcome to the site! I've been here for a couple of years and have worked with many photographers I met here on MadCow.

I'd say read the safety advice James linked to, then start looking for some TFP work to begin building your portfolio (or perhaps hire a photographer whose work you like).

Good luck and have fun!
